Marathon 2 Integer-Divide-By-Zero Patch

For all of you PC users out there that play M2, here's a patch that will
finally let you play those maps that give you those nasty IDZ errors!
This patch is FREEWARE, and not produced by Bungie.  The patch may be
distributed freely as long as it remains unmodified and this README
information is provided with the patch.

I take no responsibility for any damages that may result from the use
of this patch!

Instructions:

Just place the patch program in the same folder as m2.exe and run the
patch program (from Windows 95).  The patch will modify m2.exe, so you'll
probably want to make a copy, especially if you don't have your CD around.

Bugs:
-----
The patch works by replacing the normal exception handlers.  Though the
patch handles most IDZ exceptions fine, some problems may arise when
exceptions due to access violations occur.  I've experienced these problems
on certain maps (particularly By Jove By Jeeves).  I believe these errors
are due to my video card and driver (Diamond Stealth64 Video 2001), but
I'm not sure.

Anyway, most maps work fine, but you might find an occasional map that
causes a system hang or just causes M2 to quit with no error message--
so I would recommend against running any other programs in the background
while you're playing M2.


Try it out, there are lots of great maps out there with IDZ problems!
